App Privacy Policy

How Zing Drone Delivery Inc. collects, uses, shares, and deletes information in Zing mobile applications available on the Apple App Store and Google Play. Last updated: August 12, 2026.

Request account or data deletion

To request deletion of your Zing Apps account and associated personal data, email info@zingdrones.com from the address on the account, with the subject line "App account and data deletion request." Include the app name and, if you have one, the account email or username. We will verify the request and delete the account and associated personal data, except where we must retain limited information for security, fraud prevention, or legal compliance as described below. You can also start deletion from inside any Zing app that lets you create an account — look under Settings or Account.

1. Who we are and what this policy covers

Zing Drone Delivery Inc., doing business as Zing Drone Solutions ("Zing," "we," "us," or "our"), publishes mobile applications on the Apple App Store and Google Play under developer names that include Zing Drones, Zing Drones LLC, and Zing Drone Solutions. This App Privacy Policy applies to those mobile applications (together, the "Zing Apps" or "Apps"), including:

  • Zing Pilot
  • Zing (drone delivery)
  • Part 107 Reference
  • Companion and monitoring apps used with Z-SCAN, Z-SCAN MINI, and the Zing Airspace Platform
  • Any other mobile application we publish on the App Store or Google Play that links to this policy

This policy is written to meet Apple App Store Review Guideline 5.1.1 and Google Play User Data policy requirements: it identifies the data the Apps collect, how that data is collected, how it is used, who it is shared with, how long it is kept, and how you can withdraw consent or request deletion. It is hosted on a public URL, does not require a login, and is the privacy policy URL to use in App Store Connect and the Google Play Console.

Our website Privacy Policy covers zingdrones.com and related web services. If the two policies overlap, this App Privacy Policy controls for data collected through the Zing Apps.

2. Information we collect

The Apps collect only what is needed to operate the features you use. Not every App collects every category below. Collection depends on the App, the permissions you grant, and whether you create an account.

Information you provide

  • Account and contact details, such as name, email address, organization, role, and login credentials, when you register or we provision an account for your agency or company
  • Support messages, feedback, and other content you send us through an App
  • Delivery or mission details you enter, such as drop-off coordinates or notes, in Apps that support those workflows

Information from your device

  • Precise location, when you grant location permission, to show your position on a map, support flight or delivery navigation, overlay nearby drone detections, and provide location-based airspace features
  • Approximate location derived from network information when precise location is unavailable or not required
  • Device and app information, such as device model, operating system, app version, language, time zone, IP address, and mobile network type, used to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the Apps
  • Diagnostics, such as crash logs and performance data, to find and fix errors
  • Push notification tokens, if you allow notifications, so we can send operational alerts (for example, detections or account notices)

Information from paired hardware and flight systems

  • Remote ID and detection data received from Zing hardware or the device radio, which may include aircraft identifiers, position, altitude, velocity, timestamp, and, where broadcast, operator or control-station location
  • Device status from paired Zing hardware, such as connectivity, battery, configuration, and health
  • Flight telemetry, aircraft connection status, and live camera or video feed when an App (such as Zing Pilot) is connected to a compatible drone controller

Remote ID broadcasts are transmitted by aircraft under applicable aviation rules. The Apps process that operational data to provide detection, mapping, and awareness features. We do not use it for advertising.

3. How we collect information

We collect information in these ways:

  • Directly from you when you create an account, enter information, or contact support
  • Automatically from the App and your device when the App is running, including through operating system APIs after you grant a permission
  • From paired Zing hardware, drone controllers, and related SDKs that the App uses to communicate with aircraft or detection devices
  • From service providers that help us host the Apps, send notifications, or provide maps and airspace data, as described in Section 6

We ask for permission before accessing protected resources such as location, Bluetooth, camera, microphone, or notifications. You can withdraw permission at any time in your device settings. Some features will not work without the related permission. Paid or core functionality is not conditioned on granting access to data that is unrelated to that functionality.

4. Device permissions

Depending on the App and the features you use, we may request:

  • Location (precise or approximate) — to place you on a map, navigate a delivery or flight path, display nearby detections relative to you, and support airspace-awareness features
  • Bluetooth — to connect to Zing hardware, drone controllers, or accessories
  • Local network / nearby devices — to discover and communicate with hardware on the same network
  • Camera — to show a live aircraft video feed or support on-device computer-vision features such as landing-pad recognition
  • Microphone — only if a specific App feature requires it; we do not use the microphone for advertising
  • Notifications — to send detection alerts, flight or account notices, and similar operational messages
  • Network access — to sync with Zing cloud services, maps, and support features

Purpose strings in the Apps describe why each permission is requested. Turning a permission off in system settings withdraws consent for that access going forward.

5. How we use information

We use the information described above to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Apps and paired Zing hardware or aircraft connections
  • Display maps, detections, flight paths, delivery locations, and operator or aircraft positions
  • Create and authenticate accounts and enforce role-based access for organizational users
  • Send operational alerts and, if you opt in, push notifications
  • Respond to support requests and diagnose problems
  • Improve reliability, safety, and performance of the Apps
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, or unauthorized access
  • Comply with law, aviation rules, and lawful requests from authorities

We do not sell personal information. We do not use App data to show third-party advertising, and we do not track you across third-party apps or websites for advertising. We do not use App data for credit, insurance, or similarly significant automated decisions about you.

6. Sharing and third parties

We share information only as needed to provide the Apps, and only with parties that are obligated to protect it at a level consistent with this policy and with Apple and Google user-data requirements. Recipients may include:

  • Cloud hosting, storage, and infrastructure providers that run the Zing Airspace Platform and related backends
  • Mapping, navigation, and airspace or UTM data providers used to display maps and flight constraints
  • Aircraft, controller, and hardware SDK providers (for example, DJI) required to connect an App to compatible drones or devices
  • Push notification services operated by Apple and Google
  • Analytics or crash-reporting providers used only to operate and improve the Apps
  • Email and customer-support tools, when you contact us
  • Your organization, if you use an App under an agency, department, or company account — that organization may control operational data generated on its deployment

We may also disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Zing, our customers, or others. If Zing is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may transfer as part of that transaction, subject to this policy or a successor notice.

Third parties that receive user data from the Apps are required, by contract or by the platform terms they operate under, to provide the same or equal protection of that data as described in this policy. They are not permitted to use App user data for their own advertising.

7. Data retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed to provide the Apps, fulfill the purposes in this policy, and meet legal, accounting, security, or dispute-resolution requirements.

  • Account data is kept for the life of the account and deleted or anonymized after a verified deletion request, subject to the limited exceptions below
  • Diagnostic and device logs are kept for a short period unless needed to finish an investigation
  • Detection, flight, and evidence records generated for an organization may be retained for the period set in that customer's agreement or in applicable public-safety record rules, which can be longer than an individual user's account

When information is no longer needed, we delete it or irreversibly anonymize it. Copies in backups are isolated from further use until those backups are overwritten.

8. Your rights, consent, and deletion

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, to withdraw consent, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise these rights by emailing info@zingdrones.com. We will respond to verifiable requests as required by applicable law.

You can withdraw consent for device permissions in iOS or Android settings. You can turn off push notifications in the App or in system settings.

If an App lets you create an account, you can delete that account and the personal data associated with it:

  • In the App, using the account-deletion control in Settings or Account
  • On the web, by sending a request as described in Request account or data deletion at the top of this page

Deletion removes the account and associated personal data from our active systems. Temporary deactivation or freezing is not treated as deletion. We may retain limited information when we have a legitimate need to do so — for example, to complete a financial record, prevent fraud or abuse, comply with a legal hold, or meet aviation or public-safety recordkeeping rules. If we retain anything after deletion, we will say so in our response and limit further use to that purpose.

If you use an App through an employer or agency, some operational records may be controlled by that organization. We may need to coordinate with them before deleting data that belongs to their deployment.

9. Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit between the Apps, Zing hardware, and our services. Access to customer data is limited to personnel who need it to do their jobs. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. See our Security page for more on our approach.

10. Children's privacy

The Zing Apps are intended for adults and for professional, commercial, and public-safety use. They are not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 in jurisdictions that set a higher digital-consent age). We do not offer the Apps in a children's category on the App Store or Google Play. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. International users

We are based in the United States. If you use a Zing App from another country, information may be processed in the United States or in other locations where we or our service providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for those transfers. If you are in the EEA, UK, or a similar jurisdiction, our legal bases for processing include performing a contract with you or your organization, legitimate interests in operating and securing the Apps, compliance with legal obligations, and consent where we ask for a permission or optional feature.

12. U.S. state privacy rights

Residents of certain U.S. states, including California, may have additional rights to know, access, correct, and delete personal information, to obtain a copy, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not sell personal information and we do not share App personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise state privacy rights, email info@zingdrones.com. We may need to verify your identity. You may use an authorized agent as permitted by law. If we deny a request, you may appeal by replying to our decision.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this App Privacy Policy to reflect changes in the Apps, our practices, or legal requirements. We will post the updated policy on this page with a revised last-updated date. Material changes may also be described in an App Store or Google Play listing update, an in-app notice, or email. Continued use of a Zing App after an update takes effect means you acknowledge the revised policy.
